The first Music Boosters meeting of the year is on August 29, Monday. It is in the Choir room from 7:00 - 8:00 PM.
Menchie's Frozen Yogurt in South Pasadena will make a donation to the SPHS Band & Orchestra for purchases made from August 18 to 25. Students have flyers with more info or mention SPHS Band at purchase. Proceeds will be used for the Spring trip.
Band Camp is August 8 – 19.
The two week camp runs August 8 -12 and August 15 - 19 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day. Lunches will be provided.
Attendance is mandatory for all students participating in band and color guard and is especially important for incoming freshmen. Students will start to learn the music and field drill for the upcoming band competitions and field shows ahead.If you have not received an email about band camp, please send your email address to firstname.lastname@example.org so you can be added to the contact list.
The Music Boosters meeting for June has been cancelled.
Instrumental Spring Concert: Thursday June 2, 7:00pm in the Auditorium. The Orchestra, symphonic and concert bands, and jazz band have a special program planned with a Michael Jackson/Beatles theme! This is a not-to-be-missed show...and a great way to celebrate another fabulous and creative year for our talented musicians! Come on out!
Music Banquet: Friday, June 3rd, 6:00pm in the Cafeteria. All music families are invited to this potluck dinner (ask your student what you're supposed to bring). New officers will be announced and Mr. Crawford will present the year's music awards. As a special treat, we will have the opportunity to view a 30-minute "sneak peek" at the still-in-progress film, "Sweet Old World", which features our SPHS band!! This will be a much-anticipated first look at this film, which will be shown at 7:30 in the BAND ROOM. After this showing, the Music Banquet festivities will resume back in the Cafeteria.
Bingo Committee: There are many parents who will be "retiring" this year from the Bingo Committee, so lots of opportunities for us MUSIC PARENTS to step up and join the committee! Your term would start in September, and the commitment is to work one Saturday per month. It's really a lot of fun!
Band Camp: August 8-12 and 15-19, 8:00-4:00 on campus. Lunch included. With school starting on August 25th, band camp had to be moved up a week. If you know of incoming 9th graders who plan to be in the marching band next year, please let them know that it is crucial that they attend Band Camp, in order to learn marching basics and begin to learn the music for the field show. (The first home game is Sept. 9th!!) Contact Mr. Crawford with any questions about Band Camp.
The Spring concert is June 2 at 7:00 PM at the school auditorium.
The Music Banquet is June 3 at 6:00 PM at the school cafeteria.

The Spaghetti Dinner is coming! It is on March 3 from 5:30 - 8:30 pm at the SPHS Gym. Join us for a evening of entertainment by the music students and a silent auction plus great food. Proceeds support the Instrumental Music Department. See our link for more info.
